Ok, it's only exciting if you live on Kwaj ...
The biscuits are here!!!! I had a sausage biscuit meal from BK for breakfast the other day. It was most excellent!
YAH! Of course, it wasn't as good as a Sausage McGriddle from McDonald's, but you do what you can to get by!

Yah the Olympics!
I LOVE Olympic years. It is so much fun to cheer for your country and hope they do well. Of course, when you are me it becomes a bit difficult. When there is a NZ vs. US event, I don't know who to cheer for. I've pretty much been ranking them like this (unless they are head-to-head): US, NZ, Aus, GBR, Ire, RMI (easy to do, since they only have 5 people in the olympics), and whatever English speaking countries are left.
The whole opening ceremony issues have been keeping me amused. The little girl who could sing really well wasn't cute enough to be on TV? What? We pre-recorded the fireworks? Huh?
What KILLED me about the opening ceremonies was the photo slideshow Yahoo! put together that mis-identified the NZ delegation as Aussies. That was a big frickin' NZ flag in the picture moron! Red stars ... no big star with a freakish number of points! Argh.
I watched badminton the other day. Holy crap was that amusing. Who knew backyard barbeque games could be so intense? Those guys were *really* serious about their badminton.
What really did amaze me was Women's 3m Synchronized Diving. It's hard enough to make those dives look flawless to begin with. Now you have to do them flawlessly, in perfect time with someone else. It blows my mind that people can do that, when I have no real difficulty tripping over flat surfaces!
Then there is the rest of the stuff going on in the world ... Russia has invaded Georgia. Sad to say, there are too people that I know personally that initially thought Russia had declared war on the US and were taking over Atlanta ... possibly because they just really love Coca-cola. Of course, the US jumped to Georgia's aid by airlifting their troops that were servinig in Iraq back to Georgia. I thought that was nice of us.
People in the US are upset about off-shore oil drilling. Apparently people with really, really keen vision go to the beach and don't want to see oil rigs 50 miles off-shore. I say drill it! I also think we should drill Nebraska, or wherever it is in the mid-west that has an incredible amount of oil. No one really cares about Nebraska anyway! Ok, except for people in Nebraska, but I'm sure they really don't count! :)
14 days and a wake-up 'til I can get on a plane and go home to see my niece! WOOHOO!

Just another day on Kwaj ...
Argh. BK has been saying, since they opened on July 3rd, that the biscuits for the breakfast sandwiches would be in on the next barge. Well, the next barge was in last Wednesday ... I went to BK on Saturday morning, thinking that 4 days was plenty of time to unload some freaking biscuits ... naturally, I didn't take into account that this is Kwaj. Still no biscuits.
AAFES.com told me that my Wii shipped via UPS. I almost cried, as UPS doesn't come anywhere near Kwaj. Turns out they just forgot the -S- between the -U- and the -P-. Hurrah! It may get here this week! That would be AWESOME!
I go to the doc for my second post-cortisone shot follow-up tomorrow. I think I may actually get off of light duty ... FINALLY! I have been on light duty for more than half of this year. Breaking your face and tearing your triangular fibro-cartilage complex are apparently not excellent pasttimes.
Planning for vacation has been going very well ... New Zealand is all bought and paid for ... the trip, not the whole country ... Disney is shaping up nicely. I just need to figure out when I can have Mickey Mouse call my niece. I really want him to call me, but since the trip is all about Zoey (as is pretty much everything else), she should get the call.
Anywho, just thought I'd post somethng about my ridiculously boring life, where the excitement comes in biscuit form ... or it would, but they apparently aren't here yet.

A few weeks off ...
Ok, not so much from work, but from school. The summer semester ended today and I am done with the 2 classes I was taking. Hurrah! Fun will be had in the fall semester when I go on vacation for a month, a week into the semester. The laptop will be traveling with me! But in the next few weeks I have several books to read, so time will not be wasted!
Nothing all that new and exciting on Kwajalein ... BK rocks, Subway is tasty, it appears Anthony's Pizza gives some of us intestinal turbulence, and the shakes at Baskin-Robbins Not-Quite-31-Flavours are chock full of yumminess!
I have finally broken down and ordered my first video gaming system. I have bought myself a Wii. Wii is awesome. Wii allowed me to get my best bowling score ever. Yah Wii! With any luck it will come to me sometime this year!
Time to go and figure out how to arrange and arm my vassals appropriately so I can go back to war-mode in Knighthood ... yes, yes, I know. Geek. Geek is the word youa re looking for.

My Very First "Real" Blog
So I decided to get a blogspot blog, because I am so freaking terrible at updating my website. This will be easier and Kevin will have something to read, and since I am stuck in the salt mines for another few weeks, I will have plenty to say ... I'm sure! :)
Not much for now, just a big hello to friends and family and that's about it
